Y2K6 now have our own Call of Duty 4 : Modern warfare server.
Info:
Server ip : 193.200.158.219
Server Port : 28960
Server runs a mixed gametype map rotation and is also ranked. Gametypes are War(TDM), Headquarters, Search and destroy, and Domination.
Now before anyone goes off on one and says call of duty sucks blah blah, I myself detested call of duty 1 and 2 multiplayer with a passion, CoD 4 is however a VERY different kettle of fish. Before anyone complains it wasnt my idea  blame the $prayer guy!!!
System requirements for the game are quite heavy but not as bad as most of the new games on the market are, if you want to find out if you can run the game go HERE and follow the instructions.

lmao i failed on everything except.... Ram, sound card, direct x and operating system  it even said it couldnt read the speed of my dvd.
so thats where you all are then... playing Cod :S

| Far from it, very few of us have cod 4... most still play mohaa, you are checking all of our servers ? anyway, thought you were investing in some new hardware

| grrr i have had to uninsrtall the game and reinstall it and now the 1.4 patch dont work it says errar 1.4 is aready in use with cod4 but when i load it up it still says 1.0.454 not 1.4.454

Too many games may spoil the broth, but stuck with old games that no one is playing is worse, breakthrough servers have had practically zero players for over 4 months, they will probably be removed if the current trend keeps up. The wolfenstein server is already gone and the unreal server wont be around much longer either for the same reasons, spearhead servers have had around 100 unique players in the past month. and the number is decreasing not increasing. the amount of active clan members is also dropping, with members having less time on the servers every month, we actually havent had enough people sign up for the other tournament we were going to start this month.
What will destroy a clan more than anything else is letting it slowly die out due to the inability to try new things, if for example the clan had stuck to its Breakthrough only status, where would we be right now with a global player base of around 45 to 50 players on Bt servers, getting the spearhead server probably stopped the clan from dying altogether, but worryingly i have noticed that the amount of spearhead servers has dropped down to around the 750 mark and the player base is steadily decreasing.
Btw tonight ive checked the servers at regular intervals, there have been a grand total of 4 people on any of the servers we host, and only one of those was a clan member!

 lets not be falling out people 
my input for what it be worth is my old pc can only ply old games awww but i have heard good reports of the newer games from work coleagues .
i personally would like to say thanks to grimm he did lib on spearhead i thought it would be a hit as the bse server was  i was wrong
he as been requested to run newer games to be fair it can only be good for y2k6
yup i dwunk but at least the servers are running and i am sorry for not been on them my reason is alcohol anyone wanna pay my fees for the priory

I own COD 4 and it is a great game. Although many clan members wont be able to run it or would prefer the old WWII style game.
Taking the diplomatic approach.. Grimm has opened the clan up a lot recently, and with there being many servers now, we can host many games (I think? ) so there might be more recent and larger populated WWII games which have lower requirements.. maybe? I don't know but even though i can't run COD 4 on my PC.. I think its a positive thing.

Long post coming up:
Most popular WW2 first person shooter call of duty 2, quite some distance behind that is wolfenstein E.T. (the server we had up till about a few days ago) followed by call of duty 1 then call of duty united offensive.
Apart from the above and the mohaa series(aa sh bt), pacific assault (major flop) and moh:Airborne (even bigger flop) there is only really Brothers in Arms which could have been good if it wasnt destroyed by the damn xbox holding it back (4 freakin players only in multiplayer) and bf1942 theres little else i can think of in the WW2 era.
The WW2 based Call of Duty stuff hasn't been accepted well amongst most members (myself included, and I own them all) I did look into the possibility of trying to turn cod2 into a more mohaa like game, it simply wasnt possible.
Other games that were looked into were Americas Army (dont even go there) BF2 (about 50% of the clan have played or play it, the other 50% consider it blasphemy and wont have the name spoken) There was also UT3 and crysis which both have heavier system requirements than cod 4 and completely different game styles.
The other thing to look at would be the fact that most of the games have been out long enough that if we as a clan were ever going to play them, we would have already.
The mohaa servers that are played on won't be going anywhere any time soon, its not like it's the end of it all. As i poined out in the first post though i hated the call of duty series multiplayer myself and this is the first one i've really enjoyed playing if you can play it i suggest you try it, theres no need to buy the game, you could try the demo (single player only) or download the thing and try it on the cracked servers!

i take it rob you mean you have it on xbox 360 at the moment i played single player on pc .you know the ~~~~~ download one looked and played great have yet to play on loine but will have to wait to buy it .does it have rank system on the xbox version aswell

yes xbox has the same ranking system,
If you have the "Other Version" and its up to 1.4 then you cna test it out online by looking HERE
You dont need a no cd for multiplayer anyway. to connect to an ip just use /connect xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxxx in the cod 4 console.
